John Frisch graduated from Wichita State University with two degrees in mechanical engineering, specializing in heat transfer and fluid dynamics. He worked for Royal Dutch Shell in the United States and the Sultanate of Oman, retiring in 1995 to pursue his interests in travel and photography. Soon he fulfilled a lifetime dream to visit all seven continents and all fifty of the American States. His main photography interests include anything in nature – landscapes, wildlife, wildflowers and insects. His publication credits include books, magazines, newspapers, calendars, corporate work and an album cover. He lives in Wichita, Kansas where for the past several years he has taken a special interest in photographing the flora and fauna of the tallgrass prairie ecosystem.
